Conflicts between Cultures
I had a heart-warming chat with my colleague from the states these 2 days.
This is one of the experience she shared with me:
In the US,
The boss do not scold.
Instead, they tell their employees in a nice manner on what needs to be changed and how it can be improved.
However in Asian culture,
Bosses here literally treat you like a kid with their constant scoldings without telling you what they are expecting.
And through her, i've really learnt a lot.
She is a nice lady with a very frank and open attitude.
However, this frank and direct attitude is also the main obstacle for her to adapt to the local culture.
How wonderful this world be if everyone treats the people around them with a smile.
But i know this is not possible...

Memories of redang
The beach was really beautiful...
Sunrise was amazing and the night sky was covered with stars, a scene you would never find back in singapore.
Some random pics with bamboo shoots...
Despite this, I still feel that there could have been more...

A Great way to destressThis film is definately a great film for those after a hard day of work.
Some of the crude terms which i vividly remember were
"Big Bob & Cockmeat sandwich" & "Guantanamo Bay" (G Bay)
Dont bother figuring out what it is,
Do watch it yourself.
A Destress like this is always welcomed after a long day at work

I guess i'm just plain lucky
As usual, I was buying back lunch for my colleagues this afternoon.
The last stop was to buy a packet of sugar cane juice.
Other than the many packets of food,
i was also carrying an umbrella which was a total hindrance.
Seeing that i even had difficulties keeping my change with both arms filled,
the auntie volunteered to tie up the drink and put it into a bag.
She showed her extra bit of concern by repeatly asking whether i could manage with all the bags.
To be showered with concern by a total stranger is definately a nice feeling.
I guess i just wasn't being exposed to the outside world in the past to realise that
Even though a person may look cold and unfeeling from the outside,
deep inside, he/she might have a big heart.
I guess i've been quite lucky to constantly meet kind people around me.
My colleagues James and Saro are two great examples,
constantly showering me with love and care.
If you are reading,
This post is dedicated to the both of you. =)
